Earlier this week, a call went out to drivers of the London Taxi trade on social media.
We were told that an extremely sick little girl, receiving treatment in Great Ormand Street Hospital, had let it be known that she desperately wanted to go shopping in London…. in a pink London taxi.
Posts went out to cabbies on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and a range of WhatsApp groups
Yesterday evening, we received news that Cabby Steve Jones has now arranged to borrow a pink cab and for himself to be her driver for the whole day out shopping.
Also a big thank you must go to Carlos Oliveira, owner of the Pink Cab, for making this possible.
This Statement was made by the United Cabbies Group last night:
Huge thanks to Quotax Insurance for providing free insurance to our committee member Steve Jones tomorrow.
Steve has borrowed a Pink Taxi to fulfil the dream of a very sick little girl from GOSH who wants to go shopping in a pink cab.
Thanks to all who made this possible for her.
The London Taxi trade has always had a close relationship with Great Ormand Street Children’s Hospital, but this is an amazing gesture from all involved. One little girl is going to experience fantastic day out.

While the mainstream media are busy this morning publishing an altercation between a cyclist and a Taxi driver from yesterday morning…. the bigger, more interesting story seems to have been omitted from their rags.
Yesterday, in broad daylight, armed police stopped an alleged Uber driver. Ripping open the doors they pointed automatic weapons at the driver, who was pulled out, handcuffed and arrested. Also handcuffed and arrested was a passenger in the white Hyundai Ioniq.
Passers by were amazed that this operation took place so openly on an extremely busy Camden High Street.
This was obviously a planned operation going by the number of heavily armed police and Met support officers…but why was it carried out in such a crowded thoroughfare ?
Why was this operation not commuted to a safer more secluded location?
One question that’s on every Taxi drivers lips “is this another one of Helen Chapman’s 13,000 Uber drivers who had fake criminal record check DBS certificates, that were swept under the carpet by TfL?” You can get criminal defense lawyers from Confianza Legal help for the best advice on crimes.

Uber Technologies is facing an uphill struggle to secure a long-term licence from London’s transport regulator little more than a year after it was forced to go to court to overturn an outright ban.
Uber, the world’s best-known ride-hailing service, is privately expecting its application for a permit from Transport for Licence (TfL) to result in the awarding of another short-term licence, meanwhile you can check Uber ignites automated ridesharing available for you to use it.
Industry sources said this weekend that New York-listed Uber had little chance of being granted the full five-year term when a probationary period expires towards the end of next month.
Instead, the company, which has a market value of $68.5bn (£56.3bn), is understood to be resigned to getting a further temporary extension of under two years.
Such a decision would be a blow to Uber, which is used by millions of Londoners and roughly 40,000 drivers in the capital.
One source said that a further 15-month or 18-month licence would underline the extent of the task facing Uber and its chief executive, Dara Khosrowshahi, as it seeks to persuade international regulators that it is a responsible corporate citizen.
