  • Woman filmed him after he got in backseat and said ‘your body is beautiful’

  • Uber say the driver has now been ‘permanently removed’ following incident

This is the disturbing moment an Uber taxi driver got into the backseat of a car where a female passenger was sitting and began groping himself through his trousers.

The woman filmed the incident in Avalon, New Jersey, last Monday on her mobile phone as the driver, who appears to be in his late fifties, fondled himself while propositioning her.

In the video the woman can be heard telling the driver to stop as he says: ‘God, I love your body. My god I love your body. Your body is beautiful,’ as he touches himself over his trousers.

An Uber spokesman said this afternoon: ‘The driver has been permanently removed from the Uber platform for his inappropriate behavior, and we have reached out to the rider to apologize for such an uncomfortable experience.’

The woman, who appears to be slurring her words slightly repeatedly tells the man ‘I don’t, I don’t’ in response to a question he seems to have asked her before she began filming.

With renewed vigor the man continues to grope himself and tells her ‘No, you do, you do. Why you say you don’t? You do.’

‘You keep saying you don’t? Well, what do you want me to do?’

The woman says: ‘I don’t know, you’re bugging me out. What?’

Looking affronted, the man eventually climbs out of the car as the woman says: ‘F**** weird’

The man then mumbles something and says: ‘Have a good night. Call me alright?’

The video then cuts out.

The 30-second clip was uploaded on YouTube and Facebook by a man claiming to be a friend of the woman, who added that she was ‘working with the authorities on the issue’.

The man also claimed that the driver had locked the doors after he got in the backseat, which prevented the woman from getting out.

It has been viewed more than 20,000 times so far and has sparked a debate on the social network.

The video is just the latest in a strong of controversies to hit the taxi app.

An Uber driver in India was arrested yesterday after being accused of molesting a 21-year-old Delhi-based woman.

Last week US authorities launched an investigation into reports that British and American Uber customers are being charged for ‘phantom’ rides they never took.

Some users reportedly had hundreds or even thousands of pounds taken from their accounts.

Uber denied that it had suffered a security breach – but has promised to reimburse all customers who have been charged for journeys that they did not book or take.
