Man tells police he was attacked, robbed by Uber driver

ATLANTA —

A man is in the hospital after he tells police he was attacked and robbed by an Uber driver in Buckhead.

An Uber driver accused in the post is speaking out about what he says really happened that night on Channel 2 Action News starting at 4.

Police met with the victim, Bo Cleary, at the Atlanta Medical Center 303 Parkway Dr. NE, on information that a person that was assaulted at 3434 Roswell Rd. on Dec. 27.

The story gained a lot of attention after Bo’s sister, Taylor Cleary Corey, went to Facebook with an account of what happened to her brother.

The post soon went viral.

Cleary reported that he was assaulted by the Uber driver that picked him up from Irby Avenue after he left Churchill’s bar in Buckhead on Cainshill Place.

Cleary told police he was picked up from his location at 2:45 a.m. He said the Uber driver changed his course of direction and ended up taking him to 3434 Peachtree Rd. behind the Presbyterian Church where he was removed from the vehicle, beaten up and thrown down a drainage pipe.

Channel 2 Action News contacted the Cleary family about this situation, but has yet to receive a response.

A spokesperson for Uber, based in San Francisco, told Channel 2 Action News that their driver never picked the victim up, that the trip was cancelled before it ever took place and that GPS data proves that within minutes the Uber driver had moved on to the next customer.
